A clearing weather front over the North Wales coast left a dramatic cloudscape in the sky over the hills of Penmaenmawr and the Conwy estuary.
Watching the show from the West Shore at Llandudno as the sun approached the western horizon, Liz and I were entranced as patches of sunlight and shadow raced over the acres of exposed sand across the estuary mouth.
In the sky, those magnificent clouds went through a kaleidoscope of hues as they picked up the beams of warm light from the low angled sun as it approched the western horizon at the end of another day.
Naturally I was filming the event from the promenade which gave me an expansive view from east to west, so, as the light faded over Penmaenmawr I was able to recompose and continue filming in an easterly direction where the lit clouds were particularly beautiful.
I finally ended up shooting directly west after sunset, with the remaining high clouds glowing pink and orange against the silhouette of the Great Orme before all colour finally fled the scene and we packed up for the drive home, happy at having witnessed such beauty once again on the North Wales coast.
