Llandudno Time Lapse #22

The story behind this video

It was late in October 2016 when Liz and I parked up at Llandudno's West Shore, on the North Wales coast, to watch the sunset.

At a latitude of 53° north, the position of the sunset swings dramatically from the northwest in the height of summer, to southwest in the depths of winter, taking in the entire sweep of the view from the West Shore during the course of the year.

So on this evening the sun set a few degrees north of the headland at Penmaenmawr, and with the high tide reflecting a glowing stripe of light combined with beautiful lighting and colours in the clouds above, the scene was too lovely not to capture as a time lapse sequence.

So we spent a relaxing fifty minutes sipping coffee and watching the show, until almost all the twilight colours had faded to the deep blue of night before heading home once again.

My next challenge is to catch the sunset in mid-winter, as the sun will be setting along the edge of the Penmaenmawr headland - I hope I get it!
