A grey winter's evening on the North Wales coast - not a very promising prospect for photography of any kind!
But thanks to a calm sea and a great view overlooking the North Shore at Llandudno from the side of the Great Orme, I was able to spend an hour huddled over my camera while it took the hundreds of still images required to make this gentle time lapse video, showing the transition from dusk, through twilight and on into night.
As the natural light of day fell away, the artificial lights of the Victorian pier and Llandudno's famous promenade grew in intensity, standing out against the enroaching darkness and reflecting beautifully in the flat calm waters of the bay.
Just a lovely evening's spectacle, and quite unexpected given the prevailing weather conditions.
Mind you, I was glad when the scene had achieved full darkness and I was able to clamber back into my warm car for the drive back home!
