This is the beautiful beach at Llangranog on the Ceredigion coast, West Wales.
My wife Liz had a vague recollection of a childhood holiday here, many years ago, so we decided to call in for a looksee on our drive back home from Pembrokeshire up to North East Wales.
Well, the looksee turned into a full on evening's photography session, including this time lapse, followed by a very nice meal in the local pub, right on the beach.
Both Liz and I were stunned by the views available, with the beach boasting some very dramatic rock formations sticking out of the sand, somewhat reminiscient of the Bedruthan Steps in Cornwall, but on a much smaller and more accessible scale.
And then the sun started to set and the sky turned to fire in a glorious display of light and colour, so I rapidly found a spot that gave me the composition I wanted, with wet reflective sand punctuated with dark rock and the firey sky above.
Fifty minutes worth of exposing later and colour was rapidly fading from the sky, the temperature was dropping and my stomach was grumbling so it was off to the pub for a decent plate of ribs and chips before the long drive back home.
I'm really glad that Liz remembered this place - just fantastic!
