Autumn in North Wales is a wonderful time, as the earth slows down and the leaves turn as the myriad trees prepare for their winter slumber.
We're blessed here in Flintshire to have some fantastic woodlands to take refuge from the world in, especially during the coronavirus lockdown which prevented us from travelling far.
And some of the best, and most colourful, are the beech woods of the Loggerheads Country Park in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
With a carpet of leaves to walk on as the breeze susurrates through the upper branches, sending a golden shower fluttering down through patches of warm sunlight, this is a place and time to leave the hustle and bustle of the human world behind and immerse oneself in the timeless rhythms of God's creation.
But of course, I couldn't completely forget about the world outside as I had a camera and tripod to set up to capture just some of the sensory delights my wife Liz and I were enjoying on that memorable afternoon.
