At the start of our holiday on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands Liz and I had a good look though the guide books and on the internet to find interesting places to look at.
I'm a sucker for lighthouses (as you may have realised by now!), so I was delighted to find the Faro de Maspalomas on our map, just a half hour's drive from where we were staying at Taurito on the south coast.
Following a scouting trip during the day, we decided to come back for an evening's stroll and photography session around sunset.
So while Liz sat at a coffee bar at the top of the beach, I was down in the rock pools near the sea taking the stills for this video sequence.
It turned out to be quite a cloudy evening with a reasonable breeze blowing, which pleased me as the movement of the clouds added interest to the scene, especially as they caught the last light of the dying sun before night finally claimed the scene.
A warming cup of coffee at the Irish bar afterwards was most welcome.
