The beautiful and enigmatic Menai Straits, ever changing but always the same.
Which is why my wife Liz and I quite often end up here on the foreshore at Caernarfon on the North Wales coast at the end of the day, to watch the sun go down over the low lying Isle of Anglesey, just across the waters.
You can never be sure what the weather is going to do in this part of the world, which is part of its charm, and on this occasion we had ominous, dark clouds overhead, with just a thin gap along the horizon through which the red hues of sunset were trying to escape, but never quite making it.
I toyed with the idea of just driving home, but in the end I couldn't resist shootin gthe few hundred frames needed to create this time lapse video of the attempted sunset.
Nothing spectacular, no beams of sunlight or vividly underlit clouds, just a peaceful transition from day to evening by the side of this wonderful stretch of water.

Filters - 2 stop neutral density graduated filter used to reduce the brightness of the sky.
