One of the most beautiful, and most deadly, stretches of water in the world, this is the Menai Straits, that narrow body of tidal sea that separates the Isle of Anglesey from mainland Wales.
Spanned by two bridges, the Britannia and, pictured here, the iconic Menai suspension bridge, the first of its kind in the world, designed and built by Thomas Telford in 1826, the Menai Straits is a favourite photo location of mine.
So whenever possible around sunset, at the end of a day spent exploring the wonders of Anglesey, my wife Liz and I will often stop at the viewpoint overlooking the straits and the suspension bridge on our way home.
And, of course, no view like this should ever go un-photographed, so while we sit entranced by the view and the change from the natural light of day to the artifical lights of the bridge, my trusty Canon will be clicking away recording the hundreds of images required for just a few seconds of time lapse video.
Not a bad way to end the day!
