Parked up in the saddle between the peaks of Feol Fenlli and Moel Famau, hills in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), I'd just finished shooting the stills for my Orion Time Lapse video.
The sky was, by now, brightening perceptively to the east as sunrise approached and we progressed through the various, magical stages of morning twilight.
Tempted as I was to pack up and head home for a doze before going to work (I'd had a very early start) I just couldn't tear myself away from the beauty unfolding away on the eastern horizon.
The view looking east from the car park where I was based is particularly dramatic, with the slopes of the two hills forming a 'V' shaped valley in-between, which, at dawn, slowly fills with light like champagne filling a Coupé style glass.
So instead of heading home, I re-set my camera to record another time lapse from this location as the morning twilight went through all its wonderful changes, until just before sunrise which was when I finally packed up and headed home, just in time to head off to work.
What a way to start the day!
