5.30am on a wild winter's morning in North Wales, and I'm sheltering out of the wind behind a low wall at the Jubilee Tower on the summit of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Mind, you, I can't see much of the AONB in these conditions, with a strong and gusty breeze blowing broken low clouds over the ruins of the tower as a full moon plays hide and seek overhead, lighting up the sky with random patches of brightness as the cloud thins and thickens.
My camera and tripod are having a worse time of it that I am, exposed to the full force of the wind a few metres away from where I'm huddled, taking the hundreds of exposures needed to create this time lapse video.
Eventually the inevitable happens, and an especially vicious gust of wind topples my camera and tripod backwards to the ground, signalling the end of that particular photoshoot.
Fortunately my tough old Canon 6D was none the worse for wear, just a bit of mud needed cleaning off and then it was the trek back down the hill to my waiting car and home to breakfast.
An interesting way to start the day!
