Having got up extremely early to take the still images for my Vale of Clwyd Timelapse #10 video, I found myself with a couple of hours to spare before I had to head back home to get ready for work.
To the northeast the sky was just starting to colour up with the orange pre-dawn light that is such a beautiful precursor to sunrise, so I decided to swing my camera through 180° and catch the show over the slopes of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
The tree lined slope gave me a great foreground in silhouette against which to catch the changing light in the sky above, leading up to a lovely sunrise, muted by passing clouds which caught the light wonderfully.
The two hours went by in seemingly the blink of an eye, and it was with great reluctance that I finally tore myself away from this wonderful place to head home, grab a bite of breakfast and then off to work.
But what a way to start the day!
