A couple of days' holiday at the beautiful Herons Lake Retreat near Caerwys, North Wales gave me an evening opportunity to shoot the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video of dusk falling over the huge Moel-y-Parc transmitter mast, set high in the Clywdian Range of mountains.
I've photographed this mast before, but always from a long way away, so I jumped at the chance of a close up (relatively speaking).
So while my wife Liz recovered from soaking in the hot tub, I was in the car park for an hour or so, watching day fade to night as the bright red anticollision beacons on the tower came to dominate the sky while storm clouds raced by overhead, dumping the occasional shower on me and the camera.
Well worth putting up with a little dampness to film such a dramatic scene.
