A beautiful summer's evening with the last of the twilight colour leaching slowly out of the sky as a new moon, just a few days old, tracks slowly downwards towards the western horizon.
Time to get the camera and tripod out then and record the event, capturing the thousands of still frames needed to make this two stage time lapse video.
All too soon the sky has turned completely dark and the cratered face of the moon has dropped out of sight.
Bedtime, ready for a fresh start in the morning turning all those digital captures into a video.
