One of the most beautiful views in the Snowdonia (now called Eryri) National Park in North Wales is this panorama overlooking the Nant Gwynant valley at the foot of Snowdon.
My wife Liz and I often stop here to admire the view while driving around the National park, just for the joy of it.
But on this particular day in August 2025 we were treated to an extra-special treat, as the weather was just perfect for showing the valley off under dramatic lighting.
With threatening cumulus clouds roiling overhead, casting a dancing tapestry of sunlight and shadow on the landscape laid out beneath us, conditions were perfect for a time lapse video shoot.
So it was out with the camera and tripod to record the hundreds of still images needed to create just a few seconds of video, while Liz and I munched on a pizza and watched, entranced as the rolling fields, mountains and Llyn Gwynant came alive under the liquid sunlight.
And then it was onto the next beautiful view to enjoy as the day touring Eryri carried on.
What an amazing and beautiful place we live in, all thanks to God our Heavenly Father for creating it in the first place!
