En route to Iceland on board the P&O cruise liner Azura, and taking in the beauties of the Scottish Isles along the way, Liz and I really enjoyed the stunning and dramatic scenery we saw in this most beautiful part of the world.
One of the stops we made was at Kirkwall, the capital of the Orkney Islands, just off the northernmost tip of the Scottish mainland.
The ship was too large to dock in the harbour, so we anchored offshore and used shuttle boats to get onto the islands.
After a full day touring around we got back to the ship just before it was due to sail away, and I positioned myself high up at the stern to capture this short time lapse sequence showing our departure.
