The west coast of Mallorca, by the Mediterranean sea, is a visual treat.
Dotted along its length are numerous little seaside towns, all backed up against the very impressive limestone of the Sierra de Tramuntana which dominates the skyline.
My wife Liz and I made a real effort to visit these seaside locations during a holiday there in the spring of 2015, and one place that so impressed us that we returned three times was the lovely Port de Soller.
This natural bay is bounded on both sides by high limestone cliffs which sweep down into the sea, the joy of which is that you can drive right to the top on the south side and look down over the sea and town, whichj is where I shot the stills for this time lapse video from.
On this particular evening there were quite a few clouds around, which not only added interest to the sky in this time lapse, but also allowed patches of sunlight to play across the clifs on the other side of the bay from us in a most appealing manner.
Later on, as the sun set and natural light started to fail, the lights of the town came on and gradually grew in strength compared with the darkening landscape surrounding Port de Soller, giving a lovely effect at the end of the day.
