Whenever Liz and I go on holiday we like to explore as much of the area we're in as possible, but we usually come up with a favourite destination which we will go back to on several occasions to see at different times of the day and, for me as a photographer, in different lighting conditions.
On our last trip to the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, or 'go to' destination turned out to be the lovely Port de Soller on the west coast of the island.
Port de Soller sits in a bay, bounded by reasonably high limestone cliffs and backed by the very impressive Sierra de Tramuntana mountains which gives a stunning view from the overlook high on the southermost cliff.
So Liz and I would have an early tea in one of the seafront restaurants and then head up to the viewpoint for an evening's photography for me, and crocheting for Liz.
This time lapse video is the result of my evening's shoot on the last day of our time in Mallorca, and shows the light slowly fading from the scene as sun sets and night falls as we listen to the sussurant hiss of waves breaking on the rocks on way below us.
A great finale to our ten day excursion.
