At the end of a lovely summer's day where else would you want to be but on the North Wales coast, watching the sun setting over the Irish Sea.
And a prime spot for maximum enjoyment, complete with car park, toilets and an ice cream van (all essential equipment for the outdoor photographer!) is Barkby Beach, right at the eastern end of Prestatyn promenade.
My wife Liz and I often end up here at the end of day, enjoying a walk in the warm evening air as the waves lap on the shore right next to the promenade at high tide.
But there was no time for a stroll straight away this particular evening, as we arrived at the start of a glorious sunset that had me scrabbling to set up my camera to record the hundreds of still images needed to create this timelapse video of the beautiful twilight colours in the clouds along the horizon.
The colours lasted quite a while, but we still managed to get our walk in once the light had faded and the camera had stopped clicking away!
