It's that time of year again - early May on the North Wales coast and the sunset has swung around to the northwest.
This means that, for around five months of the year, my wife Liz and I can head to the coast whenever the weather is favourable and sit and watch a beautiful light show out over the Irish Sea.
On this particular evening our chosen sunset spot was the promenade at Rhyl, with easy parking and comfortable benches right where you want to be, it's hard to not like!
So with my camera set up and clicking away every six seconds as the sun sank slowly towards the horizon, punctuated by the offshore turbines of the Gwynt-y-Môr wind farm, we sat and basked in the golden light.
In the end the sun decided to disappear into a bank of low lying cloud before the actual time of sunset, but no matter, as there was enough light spilling heavenwards to light up the delicate clouds higher in the sky with glorious twilight colours.
So we stayed, watched and filmed until most of the colours finally faded from the scene as the north Wales coast prepared itself for nightfall.
And there are so many beautiful viewpoints along the coast from which to catch the sunset we're spoilt for choice as to where to go next!
