The coronavirus lockdown of spring and summer 2020 had my wife Liz and I out exploring our local scenery much more than we had beforehand.
One such local expedition took us to the small village of Maeshafn, with the river Alyn flowing close by.
Following a public footpath back in the direction of the Loggerheads Country Park, took us through a wonderful wooded valley with the Alyn flowing along its bottom.
The smell of wild garlic was intense, with carpets of the delicate white blooms covering the valley sides in between the trees as the waters gurgled by along the side of the path.
The river walk was delightful, with small waterfalls and an old, forgotten stone arch bridge to enjoy along the way.
So naturally enough we made frequent stops for me to photograph and video the entrancing scenes laid out before us, and just to sit on fallen trees and breathe in the heady garlic vapours.
What a wonderful experience, and we didn't see another soul along the path.
