The sun was on the cusp of setting as Liz and I settled down to watch the wispy cumulus clouds reflecting in the mirror-like waters of Sprague Lake, high in the Rocky Mountain National Park.
The view was worth watching, as clouds are rare in the dry air at 9,500 feet above sea level, and also there's usually a breeze blowing at Sprague Lake so getting such a perfect reflection was an added bonus.
In fact the view, with the moon rising and stars coming out, was so lovely that I decided to stay put for an hour and a half, shooting the stills for this time lapse as the celestial dance played out over our heads and on the surface of the lake.
It was fully dark when we finally packed everything away and headed back to the car, but well worth staying out late for, to watch God's wisdom in action in the clockwork like way our little patch of the universe works.
