Time Lapse Video Of Clouds Over Snowdon In Winter, North Wales #10

The story behind this video

We're in the middle of the summer 2026 heatwave here in north Wales, and I'm only just getting round to processing time lapse videos I shot the previous winter.

So it was refreshing to be reminded that snow and cold do actually exist in this part of the world.

Actually I find exploring the magnificent north Wales scenery much more satisfying in winter than in summer, especially on days like this, with crisp sunshine shining off a fresh coating of pristine snow.

And of course, you need a spectacular view to set off that gorgeous light, and where better than the Snowdonia (now called Eryri) National Park.

This view, taken from a convenient layby on the A4086, is one of my favourites, showing peaks of the Snowdon horseshoe ridge and Snowdon mountain itself.

And on this day, with patches of sunlight and shadow playing across the landscape while clouds and mist boiled over the snow covered mountaintops, was just too beautiful to pass by.

So my wife Liz and I spent half an hour or so just watching the scenery as my camera clicked away and the cars on the road drove by, seemingly oblivious to the wonder of God's creation, laid out for all to enjoy.
