Whenever the weather forecast shows a foggy morning I make an effort to get up early enough to be on top of one of my local mountains (read 'hills') in time for sunrise, hoping to be above the fog for some dramatic lighting effect as the sun breaks out over the top of the fog bank.
This particular morning I didn't think there was going to be anything interesting going on until I reached the very top of Moel Famau and looked out east over the Cheshire plain to Liverpool.
the whole flat area was covered in a sea of billowing mist, and I spent a very enjoyable hour or so shooting the stills for this time lapse sequence.
