The sunset at the end of a day of turbulent weather over North Wales in the autumn of 2020 was shaping up to be quite dramatic.
So I took the opportunity to head to my local hill, Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), to catch the action looking westwards over the Vale of Clwyd to the mountains of Snowdonia on the far horizon.
Well, the sunset didn't disappoint, with vivid sunbeams bursting through the passing clouds, lighting up the landscape and the recently installed wind turbines of the Brenig wind farm, whirling around madly in the stiff breeze.
The whole sunset took just half an hour to complete, by which time I was quite chilled from being hunched over my camera in the wind, making minute exposure adjustments as the light levels fell away with the lowering sun.
Well worth the effort though, as the speeded up play of light and dark in the time lapse proved almost mesmeric the first time I viewed the processed video file.
