On a nice day the view out over the Vale of Clwyd from the slopes of Moel Famau in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is just stunning.
The Vale of Clwyd is a low lying finger of North Wales land, sandwiched between the Clwydian Range to the east and the high mountains of Snowdonia to the west, and as such, acts as a funnel for weather between the two sets of mountains.
So with a lovely day in May, with broken cloud streaming by overhead, it was a real treat to be out and about on Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range, camera at the ready to record this time lapse clip of the chiaroscuro dance of sunlight and shadow over the Vale of Clwyd and the market town of Ruthin, far below, while a flock of sheep scurried about in double quick time in the fields nearby.
