The most popular and well known body of water in the Lake District, Cumbria, England, this is Lake Windermere, pictured as dusk was falling at the end of a beautiful summer's day.
My wife Liz and I were driving back south from a day spent exploring the northern reaches of the Lake District, and decided to drop down to the shores of Windermere to catch the evolving twilight colours over the lake.
But curiously enough, there's only a few places around Windermere that you can actually reach the water's edge, with Bowness being one of the most popular and touristic.
So that's where we headed, parking up right by the lake which made it easy for me to capture the couple of hundred still frames needed to make this short time lapse of the light fading over the mountains to the northwest.
A lovely way to end the end, so long as you could keep the midges at bay!
