4.00am seems a little early to be getting out of bed when on holiday, but if you want to see sights like this one then it's necessary I'm afraid.
This is the pre-sunrise twilight glow, reflecting off the wet sand of Abersoch beach on Wales' Llyn Peninsula, looking northeast towards Snowdonia.
The normally busy beach was, not unsuprisingly, deserted, except for me and my trusty Canon 5D.
The plan was to photograph the sunrise and incoming tide every few seconds to make a timelapse video of the event, which was quite sucessful.
However, out of the hundreds of images taken there were several which made for lovely still photos in their own right, this view being one such.
A 4.00 am start? Well worth the effort, and I was back at the caravan in time for breakfast!
