This is one of a series of images with the theme 'Paths of Light'.
'beach-pool-02' and 'sunset-beach-02' are the others in this series.
All the photos were taken at Talacre, which is a beach and nature reserve on the North Wales coast and a favourite haunt of mine.
Talacre has a very large beach and very photogenic abandoned lighthouse, but this particular picture was taken in the car park.
In normal daylight this scene is singularly uninspiring (it's a car park!) but before dawn, with the eastern sky brightening, it becomes a beautiful tableau of light and dark as the twilight sky reflects in the flooded ruts.
It just goes to show, sometimes the most mundane of places can be transformed by that magic ingredient - light!
