A chilly February afternoon on the North Wales coast overlooking the Victoria Dock harbour at Caernarfon found me bundled up to the nines hunched over my tripod making minute exposure adjustments as my camera clicked away recording the hundreds of still images required to create my Caernarfon Timelapse #11 video.
This was a time lapse sequence I'd had in mind to shoot for quite some time, just waiting for the right weather window to come along.
So while my wife Liz enjoyed a hot cappuchino in the Galeri Café just a few feet from where I was set up, I remained glued to my camera's live view screen as the sun set and day turned to night.
Although it was very cold on the edge of the harbour wall I didn't regret being outside, as the sky above went through some wonderful colour changes during the course of my shoot.
But after nearly two hours filming, and with almost all the light gone from the sky, I called it a night and headed in to join my wife for a final coffee before setting off on the drive back home.
This still image is one of those taken towards the end of the time lapse sequence, and cool blue tones of nautical twilight in the sky contrasting with the warm yellow tones of artificial light painting the boats in the foreground.

Exposure - 2.5 secs @ f4, ISO100
Filters - 2 stop neutral density filter used to reduce the brightness of the sky.
