The town of Caernarfon on the North Wales coast is arguably the epicentre of welsh culture in this part of the country.
Famous for its imposing castle, Caernarfon also boasts a promenade, on the seaward side of the town walls, leading to the recently developed Victoria Dock, complete with theatre, art gallery, restaurants and small harbour.
My wife Liz and I often arrive at Caernarfon after a day spent exploring the dramatic mountain scenery of the Snowdonia National Park, ready for a bite to eat in the Galeri Café followed by a stroll around the famous castle and harbour.
Of course, the imposing castle, now a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the main draw for visitors and photographers, myself included, but I also really like to photograph around Victoria Dock, taking in the nautical details on display.
One of the more eye catching artifacts on display around the harbour walls is this decommissioned bucket crane, lovingly restored and now a Grade II listed building of all things!
Well worth stopping on our stroll around the harbour to capture on a photograph.
