The rolling hills of the Clwydian Range are never more beautiful than in autumn, with crisp light highlighting the glowing colours of the turning leaves and bracken.
And one of the loveliest places to see all this autumnal splendour is the Coed Llangwyfan forest on the slopes of Pen-y-Cloddiau.
My wife Liz and I spent a delightful few hours walking through the forest along an ancient bridle path running from Moel-y-Parc to the base of Moel Arthur, taking in the stunning scenery and absolute quiet (apart from birdsong that is) of this much loved region.
Of course, the sound of a shutter clicking did punctuate the silence every now and then, as I strove to capture some of the essence of this wonderful place.
This panoramic collage was photographed right at the far end of our walk through the forest, at the Pen-y-Cloddiau car park, where we took a breather before heading up along Offa's Dyke back in the direction of Moel-y-Parc.
Just a wonderful day's outing that will stay in our hearts for a long while.
