A crisp spring morning on the slopes of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), and the rising sun was underlighting the broken cloud cover in a most dramatic and beautiful fashion.
I was here on one of my pre-work climbs, LowePro and tripod strapped to my back, hoping to see and photograph just such a display.
And I wasn't disappointed, as the wonderful North Wales light and weather combined in a glorious but brief interplay above my head.
I spotted this line of trees on the skyline, and used them, rendered as silhouettes, to anchor the image composotion and provide an area of dark to help the colours of the sky stand out more.
Having taken this single photo in the fleeting light it was then on to the summit to complete my early morning exercise.
