I always enjoy walking around a working fishing port, camera in hand, looking for interesting details to photograph.
And one of the most photogenic ports I've ever visited is the charming little harbour town of Mevagissey on Cornwall's English Channel southern coastline.
My wife Liz and I spent two weeks exploring the beauties of Devon and Cornwall during September 2019, and Mevagissey was one of our 'finds', along with a few other places we'd never seen before.
Anyhow, strolling around the wharves I came across a moored fishing boat, festooned with a large number of brightly coloured marker buoys, presumeably for lobster pots.
This is just the sort of detail that gets me excited, so I took a few photos of the buoys in different arrangements, both with and without the stern of the boat in the frame.
Reviewing the image files later, this one was my favourite, with nothing but the buoys in the composition, forming an abstract but recogniseable arrangement of shapes and colours.
