Just before sunset on the south coast of Cornwall and I'm in raptures gazing out over the still waters of the inner harbour at Mevagissy, a small fishing port just to the south of St Austell.
My wife Liz and I were enjoying a two week break spent exploring the beautiful landscapes and coastlines of Devon and Cornwall, and Mevagissey was one of the 'finds' of our time there. (Along with some other wonderful spots!)
With its convoluted harbour walls, wharves, docks and warehouses, Mevagissey was just a sensory wonderland and we made the most of our time here, wandering around the inlet savouring the sights, smells and sounds of the seaside.
Oh, and I ought to mention the amazing freshly caught mackerel and chips we ate sitting by the water's edge as well!
But enough getting carried away, as I also had a job to do, capturing the essence of the place in a series of still images, videos and time lapse sequences.
I liked this composition very much, with almost perfect reflections of the harbour in the calm sea and a pastel hued bank of cloud overhead adding a touch of dynamism to this quiet scene.
