It was the last day of the two week holiday that my wife Liz and I had spent exploring the beautiful landscapes and seascapes of Devon and Cornwall from our base near Bude on the Atlantic coast of North Cornwall.
With a whole day at our disposal for the drive back to our home in North Wales, we were loth to just leave this lovely part of the world without a final treat to see us on our way.
A dozen or so years ago now we had stayed for a week in the twin seaside towns of Lynton and Lynmouth on the North Devon coast, and as these were sort of on our way home we decided to spend a couple of hours revisiting old haunts.
Lynton amd Lynmouth proved to be just the same as we remembered them, the same shops, the same harbour and the same unique water powered cliff railway joining the two.
So our couple of hours sort of stretched out over most of the afternoon as we re-aquainted ourselves with the old fashioned charm of Lynton and Lynmouth.
But I certainly didn't mind getting home later than expected as there were so many lovely views to admire and photograph.
This particular image, featuring the immaculate putting green next to the seafront at Lynmouth, was a bit of a snapshot as I was waiting to be served with an ice cream at the time and just had a few seconds to grab a couple of frames before having to start licking!
