Duckpool is a secluded cove on the Atlantic coast of North Cornwall, with a huge sandy beach at low tide which is pretty much deserted most of the year.
Bounded by towering cliffs and sitting at the end of the wooded Coombe Valley, Duckpool is a sensory delight, with the sights, smells and sounds of the ocean and shoreline engendering an immense sense of well being.
At least, that's how my wife Liz and I felt about Duckpool as we spent a couple of glorious days here as part of our two week explore of the beauties of Devon and Cornwall.
The southwest coastal path passes through Duckpool, with a serious climb up the cliffs on either side of the beach.
This is the view out over Duckpool from the cliff edge path, shown as a panoramic collage taking in the entire bay on a lovely sunny day.
I kind of wish I was back there, standing on the cliff looking out to sea with the stiff breeze making my eyes water and the gulls crying mournfully overhead.
Never mind though, as I have these photos to remind me, as well as my Duckpool Video #1 to look at as the rain pours down outside.
