Compare and contrast this image with 'beach-dune-fence-01'.
Both photos were taken on the same beach, Talacre on the North Wales coast and both photos feature a weathered anti-erosion fence on a grass covered dune, but there the similarities stop.
'beach-dune-fence-01' was photographed in overcast conditions, and I placed the emphasis in the image on bringing out subtle nuances of tone and texture.
This image however, was photographed on a bright sunny day with much stronger directional overhead light.
This sort of lighting isn't much use for bringing out subtleties in a scene, but is great for emphasising colour and form, so that's what I did.
A polarising filter on the camera punched up the colours at the time the photo was taken, and various PhotoShop techniques I used in post processing the image took the colours beyond what could be considered natural and into the surreal.
Horses for courses in terms of what to emphasise in an image, and all depending on the type of light. Isn't photography fun!
