With Wales in local coronavirus lockdown during October 2020 my wife Liz and I spent some time exploring our local area in more depth than we would normally do.
One of our local very muddy rambles took us to the hidden ruins of Ewloe Castle in our local Wepre Park.
Surrounded by woodland decked out in autumnal glory, lit by dappled sunlight and with the wonderful smell of wet leaves and loam in our nostrils, the castle and its surrounding were a sensory delight.
With only the cawing of crows to break the silence we could have been in another world, away from the hustle and bustle of 21st century living as we wandered around the ruins.
But of course, I had some photos to take, using a 5 shot HDR blend to capture the full range of tones in the scene before me.
After all, I would want to do such a fantastic location justice and capture all that lovely detail to enjoy later, back in the warmth of home.
