I was driving home from work one day on a cold, clear winter's evening along the A548 through Deeside, North Wales.
The sun had just set, leaving a beautiful orange glow on the western horizon, which transitioned to the blue of twilight higher in the sky.
The light was so lovely that I had to pull over into a convenient layby to admire the view and hopefully capture a photo or two of the contrasting colour gradient.
Needing some structural elements to hold my image's composition together, I racked my zoom lens out to its maximum and focused on the centre support column and intricate cabling of the Flintshire suspension bridge in the far distance, with a solitary spotlight on top of the tower providing a much needed focal point.
Maybe not my usual photographic fare, but an eye catching combination of colour, light, shape and structure nonetheless.
