For my wife Liz and I, a holiday in England's Lake District just wouldn't be complete without a visit to the charming Ashness Bridge, just above Derwent Water.
Parking in the National Trust car park, the bridge itself is just a short walk downstream, but unfortunately the best views involved clambering onto a wet rock in the middle of the fast flowing stream.
Always an exercise in balance, wrestling with a tripod while trying to avoid an early bath!
But the effort was worth it to capture some lovely views of the bridge, with mountains and a hint of Derwent Water in the background.
Mind you, I did get some funny looks from the passing hikers!
