High summer in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.
The summer days are long up here at a latitude of 53°N, and 6pm can feel like midday, especially when the sun is shining.
So there's plenty of time for my wife Liz and I to head to Snowdonia for an afternoon's sightseeing and photography, taking in the vibrant colours of summer glowing in the light of the evening sunshine.
With so many stunning views to choose from we're sometimes at a loss to decide where to go next, but this viewpoint, looking up the length of Llyn Padarn towards the Snowdon Horseshoe and Glyderau mountains in the far distance, is one of our default favourite spots.
Not least because I can photograph views like this about one metre away from my car's rear bumper!
Handy when there's plenty of other places still left to see on an afternoon in Snowdonia.

Filters - Polarising filter used to enhance colours. 2 stop neutral density graduated filter used to reduce the brightness of the sky.

Comments - Final composition is a panoramic collage made by stitching multiple overlapping images together.
