The waterfront parks and gardens at Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital city of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, are just delightful to walk around, which is just what my wife Liz and I were doing towards the end of our week long winter sun break here.
The big attraction in this part of town is the huge auditorioum, designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, but in the adjacent gardens are some lovely sculptures and old buildings to enjoy.
This rather magnificent work caught my eye, the wind sculpture by Caesar Manrique, shining brightly in the light of the setting sun against the deep blue sky.
