This is a repeat of the first time lapse video I ever made, from high up on the Sychnant Pass above Conwy Morfa on the North Wales coast.
I made so many technical errors in the shooting and processing of that video (you can watch the original at this link) that I always said to myself that I would re-shoot the scene one day.
Well that day finally came in early August 2016, and armed with slightly better equipment but vastly better knowledge and experience I once again climbed up Sychnant Pass to the side of the mountain overlooking Conwy Morfa and selected my spot from which to take the stills required for this video.
The views out over the North Wales coast from this lofty spot are to die for, especially at dusk when the lights of Llandudno, Deganwy and the A55 expressway come on and slowly take over as the natural light fades away after sunset.
I filmed the scene for about two hours in total, roughly an hour either side of sunset, making the minute adjustments to the camera's shutter speed as the light levels dropped with time until virtually all the natural light had faded to night, leaving the bright jewels of the town lights and traffic light trails as the only illumination.
I was a happy guy as I climbed back down the mountain by torchlight, having been able to sit, watch and photograph such loveliness.
