New Year's Eve morning, the last day of the decade, and I'm seeing the year 2019 out in style with a dawn vigil at one of my favourite places in the world, Penmon Point on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey.
Wrapped up in multiple layers against the biting winter wind, I perched myself and my camera on a seaweed covered rock overlooking the iconic lighthouse and Puffin Island, in order to capture the hundreds of still frames needed to create this time lapse video of the arrival of the dawn.
The tide was at its lowest so I was able to get close to the lighthouse for this sequence and was treated to a gentle display of slow moving clouds catching the growing light of the sun as it approached the horizon to the southeast.
After the sun had just risen I repositioned myself on the next rock along to capture a few hundred more frames of the tide coming in around the base of the lighthouse and foreshore, which I used to create my Penmon Tide Timelapse #4 video.
What a great way to see out 2019!
