A crisp, cold and very early morning at the start of February found me hunched over my tripod on the slopes of Moel Famau, my local hill and the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), watching and photographing as stars and clouds rolled by over the Iron Age hill fort on the top of Feol Fenlli.
My plan was to capture hundreds of still images, one every few seconds, in order to create my Clwydians Night Timelapse #1 video.
The combination of star studded dark blue night skies superimposed with fast moving clouds which were catching the yellow light from nearby towns proved to be absolutely enchanting, and I kept on filming for an hour and a half until the skies to the east started to brighten and the faint light of the stars was overcome by the growing light of dawn.
Mind you, by then I was glad to get off Moel Famau and back to the relative warmth of my car!
