The scenery around Llyn Mymbyr in the Snowdonia National Park must be some of the most heavily photographed in North Wales, with majestic views out over the lake to the peaks of the Snowdon Horseshoe in the far distance.
But as well as the grand landscape views there are some wonderful little nooks and crannies to point a camera at.
Cross over to the far side of Llyn Mymbyr, on the slopes of Moel Siabod, and you'll find some delightful woodlands to explore, abounding in mosses, ferns and lichens set around the exposed knarled roots of the ancient trees.
This image was captured in summer, with verdant foliage lit by dappled patches of sunlight finding their way through the dense canopy above.
By now the sounds of humanity have faded away and you've entered a more primeval place, where the sussurant whisper of the breeze through the trees is punctuated only by the call of a solitary wood pigeon somewhere deep in the woods.
