5am on a freezing cold morning in early spring and I'm up and about, enjoying the crisp, clean air on the summit of Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Far away to the east the sun has just started to make its presence felt, with a slight lightening and colouration of the sky during astronomical twilight.
Time for a photo then, with a wooden signpost pointing the way along Offa's Dyke, and the ruined stump of the Jubilee Tower providing some handy silhouetted focal points set against the glowing sky.
A thirty second exposure rendered the sky much more bright and colourful that it appeared to the naked eye, with a lovely orange to blue colour gradient rising up from the horizon.
Sheer enjoyment!
