I got a fresh view on a much loved and photographed North Wales icon in August of 2019, as my daughter Allie had bought my wife Liz and I tickets for a short cruise up the Conwy estuary.
The cruise started at Conway harbour and took us underneath the road and rail bridges across the estuary and past the famous castle.
So I got to see these amazing structures from a completely new angle and of course, I took full advantage of the photographic opportunities along the way.
This panoramic collage takes in the imposing turrets of the castle and the extraordinary cast iron railway tunnel (for want of a better word), designed by Robert Stephenson back in 1849 and still going strong today, albeit with a bit of extra reinforcement.
So a big 'Thank You' to Allie for thinking of such a treat for her aging parents!
